Tata Power said on 14 October 2026 that it has built a diversified opportunity pipeline of over 2.8 GW spanning renewable energy, transmission and distribution for India’s data centre ecosystem. The pipeline comprises approximately 430 MW of upcoming load under its distribution network, 1,236 MW of transmission-linked opportunities and 1,150 MW of green energy capacity under active engagement, covering 29 active workstreams with 18 leading global and domestic operators.

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited commissioned 419 MW of utility-scale projects in Q2 FY27, representing over 130 percent year-on-year growth compared with 182 MW in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. It also executed 131.2 MWhr of storage projects, of which 101.2 MWhr was for in-house use and 30 MWhr for third parties. For the first half of FY27 the company executed 645 MW of utility-scale capacity and 161.2 MWhr of storage.

TP Solar, the solar manufacturing arm of Tata Power Renewable Energy, produced 1 GW of solar modules and 0.9 GW of solar cells in Q2 FY27. Output for the first half of FY27 reached 2 GW of modules and 1.8 GW of cells. The modules are Domestic Content Requirement compliant and listed under the Government of India’s Approved List of Models and Manufacturers.

Tata Power partnered with Norway-based Ocean Sun to test membrane-based floating solar technology in India. The collaboration agreement was signed on the sidelines of the 2nd India-EFTA Prosperity Summit. The companies will undertake a roughly 300 kWp pilot at Tata Power’s Mulshi reservoir in Maharashtra to evaluate performance, reliability, cost competitiveness, installation methodology and time, operations and maintenance requirements, and overall commercial viability against conventional floating solar systems.

L&T has won mega orders for power transmission across India, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, including a transmission system in Visakhapatnam.

SECI has opened bidding for 800 MW / 3,200 MWh of standalone battery storage with 20 year PPAs. Full commissioning is due by 30 April 2027.

NLC India Renewables has won a 265 MW / 530 MWh standalone battery storage project in Haryana at a capacity charge of ₹2.35 lakh per MW per month.

GK Energy has won a letter of award from MSEDCL for a 150 MW / 300 MWh battery storage project, expected to earn ₹42.84 crore a year for 15 years.

Indo Tech Transformers will supply five power transformers worth about ₹55 crore to Waaree Renewable Technologies, with deliveries from January to April 2027.

The Union Cabinet has approved a ₹23,731 crore scheme for compressed biogas, with blending mandates for gas distributors and a fixed price of ₹105 per kg.
