Praj GenX Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Praj Industries, has signed an exclusive long term framework agreement with a global EPC company to supply components for hyperscale data centre projects. The deal carries a minimum committed value of US$52 million, or about ₹500 crore.
Praj GenX will supply precision fabrication components and modules and will become the preferred supplier for certain product categories. Deliveries will run in tranches over roughly two and a half years, and work on the first tranche is already under way.
Everything will be made at the company’s large facility in Mangaluru, Karnataka, which runs on automation and collaborative robots. It is the first time Praj GenX has supplied the data centre sector.
Dr Pramod Chaudhari, Chairman of Praj GenX and Founder Chairman of Praj Group, described the agreement as a major milestone and a big long term opportunity for the business.
Market Research Outlook: Praj is known for biofuel plants, so this deal shows how India’s heavy fabrication base is finding work in the data centre boom. Hyperscale builders want modular, factory made systems that cut site time, and India’s cost and skills make it a natural supplier. Rising electricity demand from data centres should keep orders like this coming.
