Khetika Commits Up to ₹100 Crore to Spices, Opens Pesticide Free Plant at Unjha

Bengaluru based food brand Khetika has opened a new spice plant at Unjha in Gujarat with an investment of ₹10 crore. The 15,000 square foot facility starts with 500 MT of capacity and aims to run at full utilisation within a year.

The plant has its own lab that tests for pesticide residue, microbes and chemicals, and also checks nutrition, shelf life, packaging and water quality.

Khetika plans to invest up to ₹100 crore in spices over the next three years. It is targeting ₹1,000 crore in spice revenue within three years and ₹2,000 crore within five, with spices making up about half of company revenue in three to four years. Overall revenue is expected at about ₹500 crore this year, up from ₹375 crore in FY26, and the company is aiming for EBITDA profitability in the fourth quarter.

Its SAATHI programme works with about 20,000 farmers today, with a target of 50,000. Khetika runs seven plants, has entered the UK with snacks and plans to take spices to Europe and then the Middle East.

Co founder and CEO Prithwi Singh pointed out that India is the world’s largest spice exporter, yet no Indian consumer spice brand leads globally. He expects spices to become Khetika’s biggest division.

Market Research Outlook: Clean label claims are becoming the main battleground in branded spices after repeated quality scares in export markets. In house testing and farm level sourcing give Khetika a story that older brands find harder to tell. Unjha’s role as India’s cumin and fennel hub also helps on cost in a competitive spices market.
