L&T Wins Power Transmission Orders Worth ₹10,000 to 15,000 Crore in India, Saudi Arabia and UAE

Larsen & Toubro’s Power Transmission and Distribution business has won a set of orders it classifies as mega, meaning a combined value of ₹10,000 crore to ₹15,000 crore. The company did not give values for individual orders.

In India, a leading private developer has hired L&T to build a transmission system in Visakhapatnam, made up of transmission lines and substations. In Saudi Arabia, L&T will build 380 kV transmission lines and substations to add grid capacity and carry renewable power. In the UAE, it will set up 132/11 kV substations with cabling.

Joji Sebastian, Executive Vice President and Head of Power Transmission and Distribution at L&T, said the orders show the company’s ability to deliver complex power projects in several regions. He added that L&T is using technology, execution skills and its global reach to meet rising demand for stronger grids and renewable integration.

Market Research Outlook: A private developer ordering a full transmission system in Visakhapatnam points to rising power demand on India’s east coast. With grid strengthening and renewable integration driving orders at home and in the Gulf, EPC firms with deep order books will set the pace of India’s transmission infrastructure build out.
